Bug

In the ArcGIS Enterprise portal, the 'Rebuild Cache' process for a hosted scene layer previously published as a scene from ArcGIS Pro fails with the error message, “Cache generation failed”, after overwriting a web layer for a multipatch feature class.

Additional Information

Replacing the associated feature layer and rebuilding the scene cache is not supported. Once a scene layer with the associated feature layer is published, the two services are linked for the duration of the service. Therefore, a new scene layer with the new multipatch data must be created. If the intent is to replace the content of the scene layer, create a scene layer package and replace the scene layer with the contents of another scene layer of the same type. This works only for services created with scene layer packages (read-only services). If the intent is to edit features in the feature class, enable editing on the scene service during publishing and edit the scene service features in ArcGIS Pro. Save the changes and rebuild the scene cache.
