In the ArcGIS Enterprise deployments, with the latest Portal for ArcGIS security patches installed, the Join Site operation fails if the primary machine is using a non-default web server certificate.

This defect is addressed in the Portal for ArcGIS Security 2025 Update 1 Patch. Workaround

Set the web server certificate alias for the primary machine to 'portal' and reattempt the Join Site operation.
