In ArcMap, exporting a CSV file containing a text field named 'Go' generates a table or a feature class with a field named 'Go_' (Go with an underscore).

This sort of sounds like it could be a case where http://edndoc.esri.com/arcobjects/9.2/ComponentHelp/esriGeoDatabase/IFieldChecker.htm doesnt have both the input and the validate workspace set. And therefore chooses something more restrictive to be “safe”. At this time, we do not plan to address this.Workaround
Use ArcGIS Pro or export the CSV file to a dBASE table.Steps to Reproduce
