In ArcMap and ArcGIS Pro, the Clip (Data Management) tool deletes the raster attribute table of categorical rasters if the outputs are TIFF or GRID files.

Workaround

  • Provide the output location of the ‘Clip Raster’ tool to a file geodatabase instead of a file folder as .tiff or grid.
  • To save the output in a file folder, create an output in a file geodatabase first. Right-click the saved file in Catalog > Export Raster to Different Format > select a file folder as the output location and the file format as .tiff or grid. 
  • Use the ‘Extract by Mask’ tool. This option requires the ArcGIS Spatial Analyst extension.
