In ArcMap 10.2, using the Select by Attributes tool on a layer with more than one table join produces the following error, “The expression was verified successfully, but no records were returned.” No attributes are selected.

Workaround

1. Open the attached map (MapSAR1.mxd) and open the attribute table for the Assignments layer. 2. Choose the Select by Attributes option from the Attribute Table (or from the Selection menu), but remove the quotes from "Assignments.Assignment_Number”= 13. Click Verify, then OK. This selects the desired record(s).
