Additional Information

The cited success criteria (1.4.4) is not related to changing the heading text size versus the size of other text on the page. The issue has to do with using OS or browser tools to increase all text sizes on the page, which works as expected in ArcGIS StoryMaps. Additionally, even if the ability to adjust the embed card heading text size was available in the story builder, changing the size of the heading text does not change the semantic classification. While having sequential heading levels is generally accepted as good practice, skipping heading levels is not a WCAG violation. So, there is no need to change the embed card heading level. Having an h4 follow an h1 without an h2 and/or h3 does not fail WCAG success criteria.

Workaround

  1. Click Design > 'Browse my themes' > 'Create new theme'.
  2. Select the theme to start with.
  3. Under Typography on the left-hand pane, the font size for the entire project can be enlarged.
