The layout is a simulation of a physical page. Zooming in further and further, things can get pixelated. It is a good practice to check whether everything displays properly at 100 percent zoom, since that is the exported or printed page size.The data does not redraw to account for layout zooming. Upon activating the map frame and zooming in, the image rescales.
