In ArcGIS Pro, when there is more than one map frame on the layout, switching the selected map frame for the map series results in incorrect behavior upon navigating the pages.

Workaround

Disable and re-enable the map series from the Layout tab to unassociate all map frames, and re-select a map frame for the map series again.
