In ArcGIS Pro, when the Merge command is used to merge two polygons with a common edge, it outputs a multipart feature instead of a single feature if one of the two polygons is provided with Z values in any vertices.

In ArcGIS Pro, the polygon data model is updated to disallow polygons with different Z. ArcGIS Pro displays a warning that polygons with Z are not supported.
