Bug
In ArcGIS Pro, when the Append tool is used in ModelBuilder, creating variables for the input and target parameters, and setting the Schema Type to 'Use the Field Map to reconcile schema differences' do not map the attribute fields.

Workaround
Add the Make Feature Layer tool before the Append tool. This workaround is only successful in ArcGIS Pro 2.3. In some cases, the bug is still experienced even when the Make Feature Layer tool is added to the model.Steps to Reproduce
