In ArcGIS Pro, when a relatively simple symbology is applied to a polygon, and another polygon exists on top of it, ArcGIS Pro experiences significant performance issues when selecting the upper polygon.

Additional Information

The issue is not reproducible on the later versions of ArcGIS Pro. Use the latest version of ArcGIS Pro 2.6.

Workaround

  • Remove the shape marker. 
  • Increase the X and Y steps to 55pts and above.
