In ArcGIS Pro, multiple feature classes with name length greater than 28 characters when copied and pasted from one file geodatabase to another from the Catalog pane, results in the output names truncated to 28 characters.

Workaround

Follow one of the options below:Option 1
  1. Run the Copy tool in batch mode.
  2. Provide the feature classes as input.
  3. Run the tool.
Option 2
  1. Select multiple feature classes with character length more than 28 characters.
  2. Right-click the feature classes and click Export.
  3. Export the feature classes to a file geodatabase.
  4. Select the geodatabase as output location.
  5. Run the tool.
Option 3 
  1. Instead of Paste option use the Paste Special’ option.
  2. However this option is only active for the geodatabase within the project.
  3. Information is available in the tool help documentation (Note : The Paste Special option is only available on the context menu for geodatabases that have been added to the project.)
