In ArcGIS Pro, after making a selection of the points and clicking the next step on the task view window, the clipboard becomes disabled.

Additional Information
Some commands, like the Copy and Paste commands, require the map view to be active. Once another pane is active, like the task pane, the map is no longer active. The workaround is to select the feature to be copied and use the Append tool instead.Workaround
