In ArcGIS Pro 2.9.2, the error message, "Edit operation failed. The row contains a bad value. [LAYER]The row contains a bad value [FIELD]," is returned when entering long strings in the fields with newly expanded Length values in the Attribute pane.

Workaround

  1. Restart the program and save any changes when prompted.
  2. Navigate to the attributes panel, and attempt to enter a text string longer than 30 characters again. Note that the banner does not appear, and the application properly allows storing the strings as long as 50 characters.
