In ArcGIS Pro 2.8, the Apply Symbology From Layer tool within a model does not apply the symbology successfully when used as a model tool and running it through the Geoprocessing pane with the input as an inline variable.

Additional Information

The issue is not reproducible in ArcGIS Pro 2.8.2.

Workaround

Add the Make Feature Layer tool in the model to create a new layer.
