In ArcGIS Pro 2.0.1, the error “Failed: The field is not nullable” is displayed when running the LAS Point Statistics By Area tool on a shapefile with polygon features outside of the data extent.

Workaround

Using a feature class within a file geodatabase allows users to get around the error as null values can be properly stored in the tables.
