Additional Information

Related to BUG-000096495 in ArcMap. The input coordinate system and the output coordinate system are the same. In these cases, a geographic transformation is not valid, so getting an error is normal.

Workaround

Write a Python script to include the point feature classes in order to create a grid of points overlapping the original raster. Re-project the points using the Project Tool and the Warp From File geoprocessing tool to display the warp grid.
