In ArcGIS Online, if an item owned by another user in the organization is already shared with a group, administrators are unable to share it with a shared update-enabled group that they are a member of.

The behavior that is listed in the bug details is not reproducible anymore. Please note that "When you transfer the ownership of an item shared with one or more groups, the new owner must be a member of all groups with which the item is shared." Unshare and reshare the item with all the groups it is shared with, and then share it with the shared update group.
