In ArcGIS Online, group invitation emails are not sent to members when a Gmail email address is the associated address for the account (built-in login).

Additional Information

Group invites are not emailed, regardless of the account. The invited group member gets a notification in the Groups tab or in the notification bell.

Workaround

Add members without invitations.
