In ArcGIS Online, after deleting a field from a hosted feature layer that does not allow null values, user can no longer add features to the hosted feature layer. The following error message is returned, "Edits could not be saved: Cannot insert the value NULL"

The issue is not reproducible in ArcGIS Online April 2021 release. Please reach out to Esri Support if experiencing an issue.

Workaround

  1. Open feature layer settings.
  2. Disable Sync and Save.
  3. Enable Sync and Save.
