In ArcGIS Experience Builder, after updating a feature with the Edit widget, the selected feature remains active, causing unexpected behavior when selecting another feature.

This issue is as designed. As ArcGIS Experience Builder is data-centric, any selection made on the layer affects all widgets utilizing that layer. Consequently, as long as a selection exists on the layer, the Edit widget loads the selection ready for editing.Workaround
Do not make any selection on the layer.
