This issue is logged against Map Viewer Classic (ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 3.x), which is now deprecated (see deprecation notice https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/deprecation-map-viewer-classic-deprecation-000030662). The issue is not reproducible in ArcGIS Enterprise Map Viewer (ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript 4.x). It is recommended to use Map Viewer for all workflows.Workaround
- When adding the WMS service in Map Viewer, click Add > Add Layer from Web.
- Select 'A WMS OGC Web Service' as the data type and add the WMS service URL.
