In ArcGIS Business Analyst Web App, average values for variables of monetary nature do not have the ‘$’ symbol on by default in custom reports.

Thank you for the valuable feedback concerning Building Reports. This is a known limitation in the current application when adding variables from the Data Browser. As a workaround, consider using Edit on the cell for the variable. Go to Display Format and add a currency symbol under Formatting.Workaround
On the report side of the page:
1. Click on the ‘Edit’ tab.
2. Click on the cell that contains the average value.
3. Click on the wrench that appears to edit the values.
4. Click ‘Advanced Text Editing’.
5. Click on the ‘$’ symbol in the formatting section.
6. Click 'Save'.
