In a distributed collaboration, an ArcGIS Web AppBuilder app using default widgets with custom configurations shared as copies still points back to the original data in Portal for ArcGIS, not the ArcGIS Online data where it is copied to.

This issue is not reproducible.

Workaround

  • Forego sharing the app entirely, and create the app from scratch in ArcGIS Online using the now copied data.
  • Create an ArcGIS Configurable Apps template, and share it using the normal documented workflow.
