Importing the Unique Values symbology from a layer file to a new feature class with the same geometry and attributes are not honoured. A feature class with no symbology is returned in ArcMap 10.5.

Additional Information

The case uses a unique value renderer on values from a Double field. This causes the comparisons to miss due to the floating point differences. These values must either be integers or a class breaks symbology.

Workaround

Manually create the symbology on the layer which is for import.
