If the Web Adaptor name configured for the ArcGIS Server site contains the word "imageserver", the layer name of the published image service on the item details page will display either the image server’s Web Adaptor machine name or the Domain Name System (DNS) alias specified in the WebContextURL (if configured) rather than the expected layer name.
