If the Site URL value of the ArcGIS Hub site is changed, an event displayed in a Featured event card redirects to the URL that includes the original value, and the following error message is returned, "This Site Is Private."

The issue is not reproducible.

Workaround

Use the Upcoming events card which does not exhibit the issue and redirects correctly.
