If the Index Layer is an empty feature layer or the Name field is a field with all <NULL> values, ArcGIS Pro crashes after disabling Map Series.

Workaround

To disable Map Series without experiencing a crash, in the Layout tab > Page Setup group > Map Series, do one of the following:

• Change from Spatial to <None>.
• With Spatial selected, before toggling off the Enable option, make sure the Layer chosen is not an empty feature layer and the Name field is not a field having <NULL> for all its values. Click OK.
