HTTP Error 500.35 is returned in ASP.NET Core and does not support multiple apps in the same app pool when the same ArcGIS Web Adaptor name is used in multiple Internet Information Services (IIS) sites on the same web server.

Workaround

  • In Internet Information Services (IIS) Web Server, create a new app pool named AppPoolarcgis1.
  • Assign AppPoolarcgis1 to the first web adapter named arcgis in ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 or above.
  • Navigate to the physical location of the new web adaptor installed under the physical path of site 1 and add the specified app pool group IIS AppPool\AppPoolarcgis1 to the permissions and assign it full control permissions. The app pool group is located in the local system.
  • Create a new app pool named AppPoolarcgis2.
  • Assign AppPoolarcgis2 to the second site's web adapter named arcgis ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1 or above.
  • Navigate to the physical location of the new web adaptor installed under the physical path of site 2 and add the specified app pool group IIS -AppPool\AppPoolarcgis2 to the permissions and assign it full control permissions. The app pool group is located in the local system.
