Group managers of a shared content group are unable to select a shared location group from the item details page of an item in ArcGIS Online.

Duplicate of BUG-000129870, BUG-000135883. This is a known limit in the API used. Thus, it is by design. The group manager needs to use the 'Add items to group' button on the group page to contribute or share. Refer to the note under step 5 in https://doc.arcgis.com/en/arcgis-online/share-maps/share-items.htm#ESRI_SECTION1_0CF790E7414B48BEB0E69484A76D6A03 for more information.Workaround
Add an item to the group by using the Add Item button within the group and search for the desired item's name or ItemID with the group content browser.
