Do not specify Server name in Spatial Database Connection for direct connection.orUse 3 tier connection.orSpecify a short server name in hosts file (C:\Windows\system32\drivers\etc) with server IP address on client machine and use the short server name for Spatial Database Connection.(e.g., If you have a long server name like LONGSERVERNAMETEST with IP Address 190.160.250.3, use a short name like myserver in hosts file with same IP address and use the short name in Spatial Database Connection for server name.190.160.250.3 myserver)
