From the Download Rasters operation at the Rest API, the option to convert a raster to PNG, JPEG, GIF, or BMP is not honored, but results in the native format of the raster data.

Additional Information

The option to specify format as formattype:conversion is supported only from 10.1 onwards. 10.0 will support conversion if there is clipping.
