Bug

Following the ArcGIS Online June 2025 release, editing a field alias in a sublayer of a feature layer causes the other sublayers to be removed from the item data JSON. As a result, these sublayers do not appear in the layers list on the item details page.

Additional Information

This was fixed on 7/3/2025. Please follow the workaround if sublayers appear to be missing on the item details page.

Workaround

The workflow described below will restore the visibility of sublayers that appear to be missing from the hosted feature layer. Sublayer configurations such as field visibility, pop-ups, symbology, etc. may require reconfiguration after this workflow has been completed.

1.   Open the hosted feature layer item details page.

2.   From the item details page, open the feature layer in either Map Viewer or from the Visualization tab.

3.   Save the layer (Do not need to make any changes).

4.   Go back to the hosted feature layer item details page and refresh the page to see all sublayers.
