Folders created in Windows Explorer and named 'info' are are not visible in ArcCatalog, however, folders created in ArcCatalog and named 'info' are visible.

Additional Information

The name 'info' is reserved in ArcGIS and is ignored when encountered. When created in ArcCatalog, the folder persists until the parent folder is refreshed or when ArcCatalog is restarted; this is because ArcCatalog does not preprocess the contents whenever an item is renamed. This is only done during loading and refreshing.
