Field alias is not maintained if the feature layer is opened in a new project in ArcGIS Pro.

Additional Information

The LAYER field alias was updated, not the feature classes field alias. The feature class was then loaded into a new map and it utilized the untouched feature class alias. This is not a bug, this is how the software is designed. If the feature class alias it altered, when it is loaded into a new layer, the layer will default to use the newly assigned alias. If Design > Fields View is used from a layer, the source drop down can be used to access the feature classes alias (this can also be done by opening Design > Fields View directly from the catalog item).
