Additional Information

In scenario 1, the custom transformation definition uses the default method of geocentric translations, rather than the actual Null method used in scenario 2. Geocentric translations, coordinate frame, position vector, Molodensky-Badekas all convert the input latitude and longitude values to XYZ based on the input GCS's ellipsoid. The parameters are zeroes, so the same XYZ values are then converted to latitude and longitude but on the output GCS's ellipsoid. This does cause the latitude values to change if the input or output ellipsoids are different, but not the longitude values.
