Description

When the ArcSDE for Oracle geodatabase server configuration parameter DISABLEDC is set to true, connection to the geodatabase crashes due to a network I/O error.

Cause

ArcSDE 10.0 for Oracle geodatabase always uses an internal describe cache and the server configuration parameter, DISABLEDC, must be set to FALSE.

Workaround

Make sure the server configuration parameter, DISABLEDC, is set to FALSE (0).
