Additional Information
The files submitted as proof of the ArcGIS Pro 3.4 files being larger compare a rasterized or flattened PDF file from version 3.3 with a fully vector (layered) PDF file from version 3.4. Based on testing, this issue cannot be reproduced, as no significant file size difference is observed between versions 3.3 and 3.4 when using the same settings.
Workaround
To decrease the size of the PDF file, select one of the options below:
- In the Layout tab, click the Share tab, then Output group and Export Layout. Click on the Print Layout button and select 'Microsoft Print to PDF' in the Printer Name section of the Print Layout pane.
- In the Export Layout pane, navigate to Layout and the Properties tab. Check the 'Output as image' checkbox from the Compression section and leave the rest of the parameters as default.
