Additional Information

TIN data sources are single-level-of-detail (single-LOD) data sources, so if they are large and being used in the display then the whole visual extent must be used at that LOD. With raster data, we can use pyramids and tiling to effectively use lower LODs and a subset of the content to render the 3D view, which consumes less display memory, renders faster, and will export the animation to video quicker.

Workaround

  • Convert the TIN to raster (have a faster export time, but there is a potential loss in surface precision).
  • Reduce the size of the TIN (either via coarser nodes or smaller extent).
