Exporting a hosted feature view layer as a CSV, Excel, or shapefile from the item details page with a date filter applied fails and returns the error message "There was an error."

Workaround

  1. Use a non-date type field to filter data.
  2. Export the filtered records to a different file format (for example, file geodatabase (FGDB)).
  3. Select all the filtered records in the table, click Export, and select 'Selected records only'.
  4. Use the 'in the last' or 'not in the last' operators to filter records based on a date field.
  5. From the Admin REST Endpoint, update the layer definition and remove the word "timestamp" from the viewDefinitionQuery. Sample image below.
