Export to CSV from ArcGIS Experience Builder widgets (table, list) does not read as UTF-8 encoded in Excel and therefore fails to handle special characters, such as the Danish Æ, Ø, Å.

Workaround

 Two possible workarounds:

  1. Open the file with Notepad++.
  2. From the menu, select encoding, and notice that UTF-8 without BOM is selected.
  3. Select UTF-8-BOM encoding and save the file. BOM are added to the file.
  4. Open the file with Excel.

Or

  1. Open blank worksheet in Excel.
  2. Go to Data > Import > From Text/CSV.
  3. Import the exported .csv-file .
