Workaround

Safe PR#31432Dave Campanas says the following:From: support@safe.com [mailto:support@safe.com] Sent: Thursday, May 19, 2011 4:07 PMTo: Margaret MaherSubject: RE: [safe.com #133365] Esri defect NIM046837 ETRS_1989 Coordinate Systems are dropped when using the [ ref:00D3ePES.5003DHO7s:ref ]Margaret,The GML srsName and SRS Axis order can now be specified in the writer parameters dialog box, and so can be set in a Quick Export. As well, the GML version, Namespace prefix and URI can also be set on a Quick Export. This change is available in FME 2012 build 12080 and higher.Regards,Dave Campanas--------------- Original Message ---------------From: esrisupport@safe.com [esrisupport@safe.com]Sent: 3/14/2011 2:22 PMTo: mmaher@esri.comSubject: RE: [safe.com #133365] Esri defect NIM046837 ETRS_1989 Coordinate Systems are dropped when using the [ ref:00D3ePES.5003DHO7s:ref ]Margaret,This problem still exists, but I have created a problem report (PR31432) rquesting that the SRS name and axis order settings be promoted to the Parameters dialog of the GML writer. This change would allow your users to control the output coordinate system even when doing a Quick Export.A true fix to this problem is very complex, since FME must map from the ESRI coordinate system through to FME's internal CSMAP based naming to an EPSG number, if one exists, to write to GML. This requires that the coordinate system be defined in two mapping files within FME, which must be updated manually. I have an enhancement request for FME to link to the EPSG online database to determine EPSG numbers, but this is something we are exploring in the long term.Regards,Dave Campanas
