Domains updated from the Field tab for a hosted feature service in ArcGIS Online are not viewed in the map viewer or in the attribute table of the layer. The changes are reflected in the Update Definition of REST end URL.

Workaround

1. Click the Edit tab with the five pre-defined categories.
2. Click the Manage button at the bottom of the pane.
3. Click Add New Type of Feature and specify the Label & Category field.
4. Provide the required symbol.
5. Click Done.
6. Save changes. The new category is added in the Edit tab.
