The reported issue is that building an index did not improve performance when browsing a geodatabase located on a specifically configured network location. However, creating an index as described only facilitates searching for items in the Catalog pane on the Project tab or in the Catalog view when the Project is selected in the Contents pane. Building a search index does not enhance performance related to browsing, particularly when browsing the contents of a geodatabase.
