ArcGIS Desktop 10.2.2 is the last version with support for VBA. While editing and execution of VBA can continue to work in later versions, doing so can result in software errors or crashes and is not supported by Esri. On ArcGIS 10.1 machines, open the mxd from ArcMap instead of double clicking the mxd.Steps to Reproduce
