Additional Information

Geometry shifting can happen when performing an Append/Data Loading for the following reasons: •Target and input datasets do not have the same coordinate system and a geographic transformation is required for coordinate projection between them. Use the most accurate transformation possible between the datums of the target and input datasets to minimize the shifting or offset from the input coordinates to the target coordinates. This transformation can be specified in the Geographic Transformation geoprocessing environment setting. •A small amount of movement is possible within the target dataset's XY Tolerance and Resolution. For example, if the target has an XY Tolerance of 0.003 feet, and an XY Resolution of 0.0003 feet, an input dataset with a different tolerance and resolution may have coordinates shift after performing the Append, and a shift under 0.003 feet (for example, 0.00017 feet) would be acceptable and expected.
