Workaround

Either use the ArcGIS Enterprise portal's hosting server's managed relational database to store feature records for the hosted feature layer, or make the following edits to the hosted feature layer's JSON using the ArcGIS Administrative REST API.

  1. Log in to the ArcGIS Administrative REST API, refer to this link: https://my-machine.domain/server/admin/services
  2. Navigate to the hosted feature layer beneath the Hosted folder in the REST Services Directory.
  3. Click Edit to edit the JSON for the hosted feature service :
  • Locate the block of JSON below which lays out fields for Editor Tracking :

Original_JSON.png

  • Replace the above with the following JSON to set the parent node to null :

New_JSON.png

Save the changes, confirm that the changes have been applied by examining the hosted feature layer’s JSON in the non-administrative REST API, then try to create a hosted feature layer view using the ArcGIS Enterprise portal content item manager.
