Bug

Creating a join between a table and a feature layer from a SQLite database or a GeoPackage file causes the attribute table of the layer to have the wrong field names, and the symbology for the layer cannot be created when choosing any of the field names to represent it.

StatusNon-Reproducible

Additional Information

This issue is not reproducible in ArcGIS Pro 3.5.

Workaround

The only workaround is to directly create the join without adding the table to the map. To directly create the join without adding the table to the map:

  1. Right-click the layer in the Contents pane.
  2. Select Joins and Relates.
  3. Select Add Join.
  4. Select the table from the folder location.

This process does not create every invalid field name, but some are still wrongly formatted. This is the same as when creating the join after manually adding the table to the map.
