Copying and pasting a feature class with a temporary join and updating the data source for the pasted feature class, changes the join in the original feature class to reference the feature class with the updated data source.

- After following this workflow, remove the join from the original layer and re-do the join.
- Add the new layer and do the join rather than copying and pasting the old layer and updating the data source.
