Bug
Copying an ArcGIS StoryMaps item to another organization using the ArcGIS API for Python documentation does not clone the draft JSON, resulting in the cloned story returning the “Hmm... there seems to be an issue” error.

The guide for cloning has changed and users can use the clone_items method to accomplish this.Workaround
